Summer Camp 2024!

Bonjour!

Vermilionville will be hosting our 14th Annual Summer Camp Series in just a few short months! Each week is custom-crafted for each age group and language in order to provide skill-level appropriate demonstrations and hands-on craft opportunities for your camper!

Camp dates for 2024 are as follows:

Week 1: English; Ages 5 – 8: June 17 – 21
Week 2: English; Ages 9 – 12: June 24 – 28
Week 3: French; Ages 5 – 8: July 8 – 12
Week 4: French; Ages 9 – 12: July 15 – 19

Camp will start every morning at 8:45 AM (morning drop-off begins at 8:30 AM) and end at 4 PM. Friday we will finish at 1:30 PM, following the family lunch and end of camp ceremony. We will also provide the campers with breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack from our restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman.

This summer camp is designed for children between the ages 5-12. All campers are required to have completed kindergarten or a home-school equivalent. Throughout the week, campers will learn about the many things that make Acadiana so unique!

Every week provides your camper the opportunity to:

Explore our historic village and learn about what life was like for the Acadians, Native Americans, Creoles and people of African descent in the years between 1770 and 1890.
Learn about our natural resources including plants, animals, nature, and the bayous and water-ways of south Louisiana by canoeing, fishing, and more.
Work with our artisan-interpreters and musicians to learn about their crafts and history.

Each day, campers will partake in hands-on projects that they will take home with them at the end of the week. We’ll do some favorites from past years, such as tomahawk throwing, as well as lots of exciting, new activities!
Campers record their activities each day in their very own handmade journal.

Each week ends with a celebration day for parents and siblings (12:00-1:30 PM on Friday.)

Registration covers all materials associated with hands-on crafts, as well as all activities,  food, the Vermilionville camp T-shirt, and a water bottle.

The total cost for each week is $250 per camper. Additional siblings who register for camp will receive a $50 discount off the final balance. There is a required minimum deposit of $100 upon registration.

If your child has any dietary restrictions, please indicate this to us on the registration form. We recommend that campers wear comfortable clothes and bring a beach towel, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a hat and a change of clothes.
